2CB

Category: Hallucinogen, Stimulant

Also know as:

2Ci, 2CT-7, Bromo, CB, Nexus

Summary

2CB is a synthetic psychedelic drug created for recreational use and is part of the 2C family of drugs. It’s usually sold as a white powder but sometimes comes in tablets or gel caps too. A liquid form of the drug has also been reported but this is rare.

How it is taken

2C drugs are usually taken orally but can also be smoked, mixed in drinks or snorted (though snorting is less common because the drug can be very intense and painful when taken this way).

Effects

2C drugs are hallucinogenic, but they are also stimulants. This means that they can induce hallucinations, whilst also making people feel alert and overly affectionate to those around them.

Many people report a heightened awareness of colours, sounds and smells, a greater sensitivity to touch and sexual arousal.

2C drugs can produce effects similar to both ecstasy and LSD and, as with all psychedelic drugs, it can be difficult to know how each individual will react. The more you take the more unpredictable the experience can be.

Risks

Short term:

The drug can cause hallucinations similar to that of LSD. Taking 2CB can induce panic attacks. There is a risk of over-stimulating the heart and circulation.

Long term:

Regular use may lead to feelings of anxiety, disorientation and extreme tiredness. Users may become prone to depression and in some cases individuals may experience psychotic syndromes, visual illusions and depersonalisation.

Legal Status

2C-B and 2CT-7 are both Class A drugs. This means they are illegal to have, give away or sell. Possession can get you up to seven years in jail or an unlimited fine or both. Supplying someone else, even your friends, can get you up to a life sentence or an unlimited fine or both.
