Also known as: Shrooms, mushies

What it looks like and how it's taken: Grow wild throughout Scotland in the autumn and are eaten raw, dried, cooked in food, or stewed into a tea.

Immediate effects: Similar to LSD but the trip is usually milder and shorter, often lasting about 4 hours.

Risks:

  • Short term: Stomach pains, sickness and diarrhoea. Poisoning by eating wrong kind of mushroom by mistake. Can complicate mental illnesses.

Legal status: Class A
